6 MCU Heroes Who Could Be Spider-Man

6 MCU Heroes Who Could Be Spider-Man

One way the MCU could introduce a new Spider-Man is by using the multiverse concept. In "Spider-Man: No Way Home," it's been confirmed that the multiverse will play a significant role in the story, potentially allowing the MCU to introduce alternate versions of Spider-Man from different dimensions. This could provide an opportunity to bring in a new Spider-Man without breaking continuity or contradicting Peter Parker's established story.

Miles Morales

Miles Morales is a relatively new addition to the Spider-Man universe. He was introduced in 2011 in the "Ultimate Fallout" comic series, created by writer Brian Michael Bendis and artist Sara Pichelli. Miles is a teenage African American and Hispanic boy who gains spider-like abilities after being bitten by a genetically-altered spider. He takes up the mantle of Spider-Man after the death of Peter Parker in the "Ultimate Universe" storyline. Miles has since become a popular character in his own right and has even crossed over into the main Marvel Comics universe. He has been featured in various comic book series, video games, and even had his own animated film in 2018, "Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse."

Gwen Stacy Spider-Woman

Gwen Stacy is a fictional character in the Marvel Comics universe, and is known for being a love interest of Peter Parker/Spider-Man. However, in an alternate universe known as Earth-65, Gwen Stacy is the one who gained spider-like powers, becoming the superhero known as Spider-Woman. In the "Spider-Verse" storyline, it was revealed that there were multiple versions of Spider-Man and Spider-Woman across different universes, including Earth-65's Gwen Stacy. As Spider-Woman, Gwen initially tried to keep her identity a secret, but eventually revealed it to her father, Captain Stacy, who was a police officer in this universe. Together, they worked to take down the criminal underworld of Earth-65, which included villains like the Vulture, Green Goblin, and the Jackal.

Ben Reilly Scarlet Spider

Ben Reilly, also known as the Scarlet Spider, is a clone of Peter Parker who was created by the villainous Jackal in the "Clone Saga" storyline that ran through the Spider-Man comics in the 1990s. Ben was created to be a perfect clone of Peter, with all of his abilities and memories. He initially believed himself to be the real Peter Parker, but eventually discovered the truth and took on the name Ben Reilly. He donned a new costume, which was a combination of his own design and Peter's classic red and blue suit, and became the Scarlet Spider. Ben became an ally to Peter and worked alongside him as a superhero, but also had his own solo adventures. He struggled with his identity as a clone and often questioned whether he had a right to exist as his own person.

Miguel O'Hara Spider-Man 2099

Miguel O'Hara, also known as Spider-Man 2099, is a superhero in the Marvel Comics universe. He was first introduced in 1992, created by writer Peter David and artist Rick Leonardi. Miguel was a geneticist working for the Alchemax Corporation in the year 2099, where he was attempting to recreate the powers of the original Spider-Man for his employer. However, when he discovered the corrupt practices of Alchemax, he tried to quit his job, only to be framed for a crime he did not commit. As a result, he was forced to undergo a genetic procedure that gave him spider-like abilities. As Spider-Man 2099, Miguel fights crime and corruption in a futuristic version of New York City. His costume is a blue and red version of Spider-Man's classic costume, with a spider symbol on his chest that glows in the dark. He has enhanced strength, agility, and reflexes, and can shoot organic webs from his hands.

Kaine Parker Scarlet Spider

Kaine Parker is a clone of Peter Parker, created by the villainous Jackal during the infamous Clone Saga storyline in the 1990s. Kaine was originally thought to be a flawed clone, and he suffered from a degenerative cellular condition that caused him to slowly deteriorate. However, Kaine managed to survive through sheer force of will and eventually gained new powers, including enhanced strength, speed, and agility, as well as the ability to stick to walls and shoot organic webbing. After breaking free from the Jackal's control, Kaine became a vigilante known as the Scarlet Spider, wearing a red and blue costume similar to Peter's but with a hoodie and a more aggressive, anti-heroic attitude. He initially operated in Houston, Texas, but eventually made his way to New York City, where he clashed with Peter and his allies on several occasions.

Anya Corazon Spider-Girl

Anya Corazon, also known as Spider-Girl, is a Marvel Comics character who was introduced in 2004. She is a teenage superhero who possesses spider-like abilities and uses them to fight crime and protect the innocent. Anya's story begins when she is living with her father in Brooklyn and witnesses a battle between Spider-Man and the villain Arana. During the fight, Arana is defeated and leaves behind a mysterious amulet that Anya picks up. This amulet gives her spider-like powers and she decides to use them to become a hero in her own right. Anya's powers include superhuman strength, agility, and the ability to crawl up walls and ceilings. She also has an enhanced sense of hearing and can shoot webs from her fingertips. Anya initially takes on the name "Araña" (which means spider in Spanish) and uses her powers to fight crime in her neighborhood. However, she later changes her name to "Spider-Girl" and joins the Avengers Academy, where she trains alongside other young heroes.

Final Verdict

Although Spider-Man's future in the MCU remains uncertain, there are many potential candidates who could take up the mantle. Each of these characters has unique abilities, backstories, and personalities that could make for compelling Spider-Man replacements. The multiverse concept introduced in "Spider-Man: No Way Home" could provide an opportunity to bring in a new Spider-Man without breaking continuity or contradicting Peter Parker's established story.
